Subject: Taking GREAT PUPPY pictures!

  Taking pics of your Puppy/Dog

Most important for good pics- Pics need to be taken with the camera on =
the same level as the dog. This can be accomplished by the person taking =
the picture squatting, knealing, sitting- down and by lowering the =
camera as well. If they are taken say standing over the dog- again the =
dog can look distorted and out of proportion plus can not tell the =
height of the dog. This way we can really see the height of the dog and =
color.- When the camera is on the same level as the doggie.=20

A stand and a sit is always nice- but dont always have to have the 2 =
together each time you send a pic. =20

For taking pics of the dog standing from the side- If there is no one =
to hold the leash he/she can be tied up to a fence for a few minutes- or =
when he is just out playing in the yard(they seem to be better then when =
he/she is tied to the fence). =20
If you want to put boy/girl in a show stand it is the rear foot that =
is closest to you that gets pulled back.=20

A sit w/the top of ears to the bottom of the feet is always a nice pic =
for seeing dogs face and color! - Camera on same level as the dog. =20

A head shot is always lovely for seeing the dogs beautiful face- but =
we dont have to have that.=20

Laying down pics always look so pretty too but hard for us to see =
size, etc. if they are the only pics we ever get. We LOVE to see pics =
of the dogs swimming!, playing, pics w/family, etc.-if you like! :-)=20

  DISTANCE=20
Keep your distance back from your dog to 'about' 6-10' or dogs may may =
look like they have a huge nose! (Unless you have a camera that does a =
nice job on close ups with out the distortion) When you are too close =
you will loose the depth of field (clarity, detail, depth of focus). This =
won't show up in your view finder but usually will in your pictures.=20

Too far away- we can not see the beautiful details of the dogs face. =20

  LIGHT
You can usually get clearer, pictures with brighter light outdoors, on =
a sunny day with the sun behind you. A picture taken after 5 pm is =
loosing quality. A picture before 11 am is loosing quality. The best =
time is 1-2 pm when the sun is behind you and still at the brightest. =
Summer time is the best time with no clouds hiding the sun.=20
It is 'usually' best not to take pictures indoors because then you =
have to use a flash and you will usually loose detail, clarity and =
colour. You don't want a black dog with silver or white flash spots and =
red eyes for a picture. SOME cameras do a GREAT job indoors though.=20

Pictures taken 'with doggie standing on a rock' usually always come =
out good for some reason!=20
